Gerber daisy flowers can be defined as a type of daisy flower that was gotten from the sunflower family. This is a type of flower which is gotten from a species of flowers tat are known as gerbera. It is a genus that is from the ornamental branch of the sunflower family of plants. The flower got its name from a person. The person was known as Traugott Gerber who was a German naturalist. The flower was named after him in honor by a friend of his by the name of Carolus Linnaeus.

One of the names is Transvaal daisy and the other is Barberton daisy. Though they are the same genus, the two types of flowers will be slightly different. These types of flowers will be found to have a very big capitulum. In most of the cases, the capitulum will be found to be two-lipped ray florets which are seen as very striking. They come in different types of colors which will include yellow, red, white, orange and pink. InGerber flowers,you will find that the capitulum will have the looks of being one flower. Though this is the impression, it will be found to be made up of very many individual flowers. The physical attributes of the flower will be found to be varying depending on the hundreds of flowers positioning in the capitulum.

In the present day, the flowers are used to decorate special occasion like weddings, anniversaries and functions like these.
